An island beyond my wildest dreams.  The island is small but perfect in every way.  The food was beyond incredible.  The people were so nice and accommodating.  We felt like we had the whole island to ourselves.

Some fun facts about the Maldives

Geography and Climate

The Maldives is an archipelago consisting of 26 atolls, which are made up of over 1,000 coral islands. With an average ground level of 1.5 meters above sea level, the Maldives is the lowest country on Earth. The tropical monsoon climate ensures warm temperatures year-round, with an average of 27°C ( 80°F).

Marine Biodiversity

Did you know that the Maldives is home to over 2,000 species of fish, 187 species of coral, and a wide variety of marine life? The crystal-clear waters provide excellent visibility for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. Explore the underwater world and witness majestic manta rays, colorful reef fish, and even whale sharks.

Sustainability Efforts

As a low-lying island nation, the Maldives is particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Many resorts in the Maldives have implemented sustainable practices to reduce their environmental impact, such as solar power generation, desalination plants, and coral reef restoration projects.

Home to Luxurious Resorts

Although we stayed at Como Cocoa for part of our trip I would love to experience one of their sister hotels.  In particular Como Maalifushi.  https://www.comohotels.com/maldives/como-maalifushi

The overwater bungalows and villas offer unparalleled views of the ocean, with direct access to the vibrant coral reefs below.
